urBreed Terms of Service
Version 1.1.0 — SUPERSEDED
Scope Across Platforms
These terms apply to all our platforms as one unified ecosystem.
theirlife.pet, urbreed.com, lnfpet.com, and ursmartid.com are all part of the same animal record ecosystem. When you create an account or contribute information on any of these platforms, you're contributing to the same animal records and the same audit system. What this means: An animal record created on urbreed.com is accessible through theirlife.pet, lnfpet.com, and ursmartid.com Information you enter on one platform is visible across all four Your account credentials and stewardship role work across all platforms Corrections, amendments, and audit trails are unified across domains Our terms of service, liability policies, and correction workflows apply uniformly to all four platforms Privacy and data handling practices are consistent across urbreed.com, theirlife.pet, lnfpet.com, and ursmartid.com You are agreeing to these terms for your participation across all four domains.
Animal Record Stewardship
You are a steward of the animal’s lifelong record.
Your Agreement to Protect This Animal's Future By contributing to this animal's record, you're not just entering data. You're creating a lifelong document that follows this animal through every home, every veterinarian, and every caregiver it will ever have. A future owner might make a life-or-death decision based on what you enter here. A vet might catch a hidden health issue because of your notes. A rescue might prevent an animal from going to an unsuitable home because of your transparency. We take this responsibility seriously, and we need you to as well. When you become a steward of an animal's record on our platform, you agree that: This record belongs to the animal, not to you Your role is to add to its story, not control it Once you contribute information, it becomes part of that animal's permanent history Future stewards — including owners, vets, and rescues — will have access to what you've recorded You cannot delete or remove your contributions, but you can request corrections through our formal process The animal's safety and welfare come first. Always.
Data Contribution & Accuracy
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you record.
You Are Responsible for What You Record When you enter information into an animal's record — whether it's health history, behavioral notes, breeding lineage, or incident reports — you're making a factual claim. That claim may influence decisions that affect this animal's life, safety, and wellbeing. We don't verify what you enter. We don't fact-check your notes. We don't second-guess your records. That's intentional. But it also means you are accountable for accuracy. By contributing to this animal's record, you warrant that: All information you enter is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge You have the authority and access to report what you're reporting You will not enter false, misleading, or malicious information If you later discover an error in something you've recorded, you will immediately request a correction through our formal amendment process You understand that false or reckless entries could cause harm to an animal and potentially expose you to legal liability If a future steward relies on your information and that information proves false, you may be held responsible. We are a platform. You are the source. Own that responsibility.
Audit Trail & Immutability
Every action is logged, timestamped, and permanently traceable.
Your Actions Are Permanently Recorded Every contribution, edit, correction, and interaction you make on an animal's record is logged in an immutable audit trail. This trail is timestamped, attributed to your account, and cannot be altered or deleted — by you, by us, or by any other steward. The animal's record has two layers: The current state — what's displayed to stewards, vets, and adopters (the "live" record) The immutable audit log — every version, every change, who made it, when, and what they changed This protects everyone: Rescues from liability — proves the animal was healthy when transferred Breeders from misrepresentation claims — proves what they disclosed New owners from surprises — full history available at adoption The platform from disputes — clear record of who entered what and when By using this platform, you acknowledge that your actions create a permanent, auditable record.
Platform Liability Waiver
We are custodians, not guarantors of the data.
We Are Custodians, Not Guarantors Our platform is a neutral record custodian. We don't own the records. We don't verify the information. We don't police accuracy. We don't make decisions based on the data. Our role is singular: to preserve and protect the animal's record so it persists across all stewards. What We Do: Maintain secure infrastructure to store records Ensure contributions are timestamped and traceable Provide access to authorized stewards Preserve audit trails indefinitely Process correction requests through our formal workflow Protect the animal's record from loss or tampering What We Don't Do: Verify the accuracy of information you enter Fact-check health claims, breeding history, or behavioral reports Warrant that the record is complete or correct Make decisions about animal placement or care based on the record Police misuse of information by stewards Take responsibility if someone relies on false information If you adopt an animal and later discover that a previous steward entered false health information, that is a dispute between you and that steward — not with us. If a vet relies on inaccurate behavioral notes and makes a treatment decision, liability flows to the person who recorded those notes — not to the platform. We are the messenger, not the message. By using our platform, you agree that you will not hold the platform liable for the accuracy, completeness, or consequences of information in the animal's record. You also agree to hold the platform harmless from disputes arising from reliance on that information.
Correction Workflow & Record Integrity
You can correct errors, but you cannot erase history.
How We Preserve Truth While Allowing for Human Error Everyone makes mistakes. A date gets transposed. A medication name is misspelled. A behavioral incident is misremembered or misreported. We get that. But we won't let mistakes disappear. Instead, we have a formal correction process that keeps both the original record and the correction visible. If You Need to Correct Something You Entered: Submit a correction request through our platform Specify what was wrong and what the correct information should be Provide a reason for the amendment Your correction is reviewed and timestamped The original entry remains in the audit log, marked as superseded The new entry is recorded and linked back to you Both versions exist forever. Future stewards see what was originally recorded and what was corrected, and when. For Trusted Stewards (Veterinarians, Rescues, Breeders): If a veterinarian, licensed rescue, or registered breeder identifies an error in their own contributions, they have authority to amend their entries directly. Their corrections are still logged and timestamped. The original remains visible in the audit trail. What You Cannot Do: Delete your contributions Hide previous entries Remove information from the audit log Retroactively change timestamps Prevent future stewards from seeing your original submission The animal's record is a historical document. It documents what was known and when. That history cannot be erased.
Dispute Resolution & Bad Faith
Bad faith entries can lead to restrictions or termination.
When Stewards Disagree or Act in Bad Faith We assume good intentions. But sometimes stewards dispute corrections, enter deliberately false information, or try to manipulate the record. This section covers what happens then. Scenarios That Trigger Review: A steward claims their correction was wrong and demands it be reversed Multiple stewards report conflicting information about the same animal A steward submits information that appears deliberately malicious or defamatory A legal authority (vet board, law enforcement, animal welfare agency) challenges the accuracy of a record A correction request is denied by the platform and the steward appeals Our Response: We do not adjudicate truth. We do not take sides. Instead: We flag disputed entries in the animal's record so future stewards see the conflict We preserve all versions and amendments so the full history is visible We may temporarily lock an entry from further amendments while a dispute is under review We may require additional documentation or veterinary verification before accepting corrections on sensitive health claims We will cooperate with legal authorities and animal welfare investigations We will not remove information based on a single person's complaint — only through formal amendment by the original contributor or through legal process Bad Faith Conduct: If you deliberately enter false information, make frivolous disputes, or attempt to manipulate the record, we reserve the right to: Restrict your editing privileges Flag your contributions as disputed or unverified Require veterinary or professional sign-off on future entries Terminate your account if behavior persists Cooperate with law enforcement or animal welfare authorities if criminal conduct is suspected The animal's safety comes first. Trolls, abusers, and liars don't get to hide behind the platform.
